How do I know my order has been placed?
One Hot Mama will send you confirmation of your order via email. This email will have an order number for your reference. 

How do I know my item is in-stock?  And what if my item is on backorder?

Generally if it is available to order on the website, it means it's in-stock.  If the item is on backorder it will say so on the page. 

If we sell out of an item or if it is unavailable to ship for any other reason, we will let you know by email right away.  There are no extra shipping charges for backordered items.

Store Credit

About Our Prices

We know, we know. Money's always tight (why do you think we started a website?) ;) Seriously, though, we want to explain how we come up with our prices, and why we think they're fair. The stuff we carry from other designers, like Japanese Weekend, Olian, Prego and others, has a set wholesale price which we pay for their products. And a recommended retail price. We try to set the price for you Hot Mamas fairly, since we understand that you've got a little mouth to feed. But hey! You're nursing, and that means you're going to save more than enough to cover the cost of a nursing dress or two (average cost of formula and bottles for one year -- around $1,600 -- so live a little).

Our mission is to support breastfeeding and style in the same clothes. So you won't want to burn our dresses when you're done nursing, or even not with baby. That makes them even more worthwhile. Check out Nordstrom, Gap or even Pea In The Pod and see how much a typical summer dress goes for. Then realize that you'll be able to gestate or feed Junior AND look good in ours. Not so bad, n'est-ce pas? We also hope that you do what we do with your stage-specific clothes -- share them!  In my family, weâ??re always carting around bags and shipping boxes filled with gently used maternity, nursing and baby clothes that we share with each other. The high quality of our One Hot Mama styles will stand up to years of this kind of use, so your cost per wearing is negligible!

About Our Sizes

Pregnant customers should go by their pre-pregnancy size, unless their first trimester was a big one, weight-wise. You may have changed dress sizes before you started to show. Each manufacturer, however, has their own quirks. The best way to get the right fit is to know your current numerical dress size, then just apply it to the size chart we have for each item and voila!

Each manufacturer of nursing clothes, like those of regular clothes, cuts their clothes a little differently. Japanese Weekend is pretty typical; they scale their sizes as follows:

However, as we said, each manufacturer has their own quirks.  Be sure to see the size information on each individual product.

How do I know the clothes will look the same in person as they do on my computer screen?

At One Hot Mama, we make every effort to ensure the accuracy of the photos on our site.  However, please note that colors can vary slightly from computer monitor to computer monitor.  We know buying clothes online is tricky. So we have a generous return and exchange policy, and we try to be very honest in our descriptions. If you ever have a question, just call or email us!

Shipping Charges

Exchanges:  If you are exchanging merchandise, you pay for shipping it back to us.  You may exchange something for the same item in a different size or color and we'll pay for shipping it to you (in the US only). However, if you would like to upgrade your shipping method, purchase a different item or additional items, or exchange a second time, you are responsible for additional shipping charges.  Due to the high cost of international mail, non-US exchanges must pay shipping.

Returns: If you are returning merchandise for a refund, you pay for shipping it back to us. Your original shipping charges are non-refundable.

Incorrect Orders: If we (God forbid!) inadvertently sent you incorrect merchandise, oops, sorry!  We'll reimburse you for the cost of returning the package to us (and then we'll get out the correct order, if you're still talking to us.)

Refunds:
We'll issue a refund (to your original method of payment) as soon as we receive your return.  Weâ??ve noticed, however, that although a charge appears on our credit cards within milliseconds, those refunds sometimes take a few days to post. Please know that we are not responsible for the sluggishness of your credit card company to process money that goes back to you!

We offer Priority Mail and Express Mail from the US Postal Service, standard overnight from Federal Express, and international shipping.

United States Postal Service - Priority Mail & Express Mail
Our standard shipping method is Priority Mail from the US Postal Service. Customers living in the U.S. and U.S. territories should receive their orders within 3 to 4 business days. Actually, we usually get it to you in 2-3, but by saying 3-4 days, we're not breaking your heart. 

Shipping Special.  Free Priority Mail shipping for orders over $45  (United States only).  For orders under $45, shipping is only $3.

Canada

We ship Global Priority Mail to Canada, which averages about 4-7 business days.  Choose Global Priority Mail from the United States Postal Service as your shipping choice, and the total will be calculated for you.  The total will depend on the amount of your order.

Express Mail
We're happy to rush your order.   Express Mail from the Postal Service will be sent out same-day if the order is received before 2pm PST Monday through Friday.  (Orders after 2 pm Friday will go out Monday.)  (Express Mail usually gets there the next day, but the Postal Service only guarantees it within 2 days.  If you absolutely positively must have it overnight, use Fedex.)

Federal Express
No, it ain't cheap, but it'll get there by 4:30pm the next business day (order must be received by 3pm PST.)   We also offer Fedex 2-Day.

International Shipping
We are happy to ship internationally.  It is expensive, but it's expensive because it costs us a lot.  ;)  We ship Global Priority Mail, which averages about 4-7 business days, depending on your local mail service and Customs.  One Hot Mama is not responsible for any Customs Duties or taxes.

At One Hot Mama, we want you to be happy! :)  If you don't like it, send it back. Unused items in original condition may be returned for exchange or refund of merchandise price within 30 days of receipt.  Shipping and handling fees are not refundable.
