Did you catch the paparazzi photo of poor Maggie
Gyllenhaall with her baby at her breast? Some dork gossip columnist had
the temerity to say it was disgusting to
breastfeed in public.
Now, I know we sell nursing clothes. But nowhere (if I'm wrong, you'll
let me know) have we ever suggested that the reason for our garb is
disgust with the female anatomy functioning as it should. I'm about
clothes that make life easy
-- and good-looking -- for nursing mamas. (That's why I despise the
nursing shawl -- it reeks of shame, not sartorial splendor.) Sure, you
could wear a regular tank top and just pull down to nurse. But this pretty
patterned number from Majamas does more than a tank from Vickie's Secret
ever could -- the built-in bra top is strong enough to hold your milky
mammaries, AND it has Majamas either love 'em or hate 'em cutouts for
nursing ease. They don't help you be discreet so much as offer friendly
support. But it's cute, the bra insert is fully lined and the wild print
covers up spit up and leakage with aplomb.
