The tricky part (okay, one of many tricky parts) of pregnancy is working out a wardrobe for a completely different body whose metamorphosis will span at least two, and possibly three seasons. Count your blessings that you’re pregnant now, because in the not-too-distant past (my first pregnancy) maternity clothes were hideous and ill-fitting. Now, there are so many awesome choices that it would almost inspire me to get pregnant again. Almost. The reason to buy maternity clothes instead of larger and larger stuff (or worse, borrowing from your husband) is that it’s important feel comfy while looking good. These outfits will be as cute at the very end of your pregnancy, when seeing your feet is impossible, as at the beginning, where you basically feel bloated and want nothing to touch your belly.
You won’t be pregnant forever (it only feels that way), but the scary news is that you might not fit into your pre-pregnancy clothes for a while after your give birth. Make sure you look good with clothes that will do double duty. Many of the choices One Hot Mama offers will also work for nursing, so weather you become a La Leche League junkie or only nurse for the first 6 weeks, make it easy with outfits that allow access.
